Congratulations to Audrey Young, recently honoured after retiring from our choir after almost 70 years of service! Audrey received a certificate from Archbishop Johnson, and had a special celebratory evening with our choir. Congratulations, Audrey, and well done!
The Choir
Do you enjoy singing? Have you ever considered joining our Choir? All sections are currently in need of new members. We rehearse on Thursday evenings from 7:30 - 9:30 pm and we would love to welcome you! Being able to read music is not necessary, but having the ability to sing in tune is a good idea! For more information, please speak to the Director of Music, Carmine Lappano.

Music, soccer
are Carmineʼs
big passions
It was at that time that Carmine began to perform with several choirs such as The Elmer Iseler Singers, The Victoria Scholars and The Mississauga Choral Society. He also sang with many church choirs, in particular as a tenor lead at St. James Cathedral in Toronto. During his studies and choral singing, Carmine was fortunate to work with numerous renowned choral and church musicians such as Lydia Adams, Jerzy Chichocki, John Tuttle, and Matthew Larkin. After somewhat of an absence from playing the keyboard, Carmine returned to the bench in 2006 when he took on the duties of Music Director and Choir Conductor at Guildwood Community Presbyterian Church. While at Guildwood, Carmine enjoyed making music with the choir and congregation, and also organized and performed in a variety of concerts as an outreach to the Guildwood community. He retained this post until the summer of 2011. Carmine is also an elementary school teacher, working at William G. Miller Jr. P.S. in Scarborough. He had also taught music at Jack Miner Sr. P.S. for several years. He enjoys many sports and activities, and regularly plays soccer, basketball and squash. He lives happily in Ajax with his wonderful wife Michelle, and his beautiful sons, Joseph and Samuel. Carmine is extremely pleased to join the Church of St. Nicholas Anglican, and looks forward to continuing the strong musical tradition that has been established at this juncture. Our Directors of Music, the Reverend Joan Waters-Garner and Bill Goodfellow have retired
A special celebration followed the service on Sunday August 28 as we gave thanks for their musical leadership over the past four years.
